Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, 95 points, blackberry and orange peel, tannins that still want a little time.

The 2016 Château Du Parc is the Grand Cru the collection uses to answer Saint-Émilion directly. Eighty percent Merlot, twenty percent Cabernet Franc, from Dr. Alain Raynaud and Damien Landouar. Forbes: 95 points. The critic’s note on the shop talks about ripe red fruit, blackberry, heather, a nose worth staying with, then lush fruit and tannins that are laid back without disappearing.

The maison’s shorter note is the one you will taste: very pretty blackberry and orange-peel aromas, floral hints, medium to full body, firm and silky tannins, a flavorful finish. Chewy and linear. Two or three years will soften the extraction if you can wait. If you cannot, decant and feed it.

Six bottles are the shipping unit the shop built the offer around.
