One of the smallest vineyards in Pomerol, scored like a wine with a much longer nickname.

Clos Beauséjour is Pomerol at a scale most importers will not bother with. One hundred sixty-three cases for the United States. The maison calls the property one of the smallest vineyards in the appellation, which in Pomerol is a meaningful sentence.

Tom Mullen’s Forbes note, 97 points: bursting aromas of red cherry, mint, and tree bark. A soft Pomerol beauty. Red plum and red cherry in the middle, mocha on the finish, tannins with finesse rather than weight for its own sake. James Suckling’s 93 sits beside it — fine, balanced, the kind of score that means the wine is not a one-critic accident.

The shop copy describes this release as the 2021 vintage. The photograph on that same page shows a label printed 2020. Treat vsatsr.com as the vintage of record when you buy, and treat the scores as what they are: a critic’s note on this tiny Pomerol, published by the maison next to the add-to-cart button.
